The background or base fabric of these shams is a thick, crinkle cotton gauze studded with dime-sized blossoms of fuzzy cotton threads. Unfortunately, these chenille "puffballs" are neither puffy nor balls, but instead a rather loosely grouped bunch of threads that flatten out and pull out easily from the base fabric. I was hoping for a super-comfy sham with dense, soft, rounded chenille balls. This isn't it. The material washes very poorly and causes the chenille blossoms to shred and emit uneven lengths of strings. I washed them inside out, on gentle, in cold water, line dried, then ran them through a 10-minute air-only dryer cycle with a soft towel & a tennis ball, and they came out with stringy tufts and flattened lumps. The sham opening on the back is close to the end, instead of the middle, which means the pillow keeps popping out. Also, the color I ordered, Pebble, is much, MUCH lighter than the photo- a very pale, yellowish, wheat-gold khaki, not at all like the earthy brown tone pictured. It's too bad, because the twisted fringe edging the sham is very high quality, and didn't wash out of shape or shred. But poor design and implementation of the rest of the sham are disappointing, especially for this price. I don't recommend them.

I purchased the shams too, which just add to beauty of the blanket. It makes the room look stunning.

I love the chenille bedspreads from Linen Source. I have a few. I love that these particular ones are a bit lighter than traditional ones. The benefits of a lighter spread is that they can be easier to wash and dry. We dry them half way in the dryer they drape them over a rack to air dry. Also, they don't take up a huge amount of space in the linen closet.
All the colors and the price make these affordable enough to have a few for different seasons.
This is the "Dot" Chenille which is so cute, it's got a fresh spring/summer appeal.

I bought this in pebble for my king size bed because I loved the style and I knew it would be lightweight enough to wash easily. Since our small dog sleeps on our bed, I wash the coverlet every 4-6 weeks. Although I really liked the color and style of this spread, especially the fringe, it didn't fare very well on it's very first washing, which I did do according to instructions. It came out with 2 dots nearly gone. Each one of the polka dots is made up of only about 8 tufts of yarn so it doesn't take much to lose a dot. If I'd bought it for the guest room or any other bed in my house that is not slept on by the pet, I probably would have kept it but since I knew it'd be washed regularly and I was concerned it would be bald in six months, I sadly sent it back..

I have several of these chenille bedspreads, this particular style (allover dots) is a lot thinner as compared to the lofty row pattern. I do love the way that they launder and they look very neat and tailored on the beds.

I thought the chenille would be softer and thicker.

I was wary about ordering this bedspread as I wasn't sure it would do what I was looking for.It absolutely did. It hangs down as far as I hoped. We have a king size pillow top and I have had a lot of trouble getting sheets with deep enough pockets and most of the bedspreads I found didn't hang down far enough. Not only does this meet my size requirements, it also is very nice to the touch and pretty to look at. Haven't washed it yet, but from the other reviews, I expect it to turn out fine when I do.
